the big rocks...priorities

A man stood in front of a group of bright , accomplished students. He said,"It's time for a quick quiz" . He pulled out a wide mouthed gallon jar and set it on a table in front of him. Then he produced a dozen fist-sized rocks and dropped them one at a time in the jar.
When the jar was filled top the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked "Is this jar full?" .
Everyone in the class said "YES."

"Really?" the man asked. He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He poured some gravel into into the jar and shook it, causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the spaces between the rocks.

Then he asked the group agn,"Is this jar full?", By this time the class was onto him."Probably not," one of them suggested.
"Good," he replied. And he reached under the table and brought out as bucket of sand.He started dumping the sand into it and it went into all the spaces between the rocks and the gravel. Once more he asked the question, "Is the jar full?"
"NO" the class shouted in unison. Once again he said, "Good"Then he picked up a pitcher of water and poured it in until the jar was filled to the grim. Then he looked up at the class and asked, "Whats the point of this demonstration?"

One student raised hi hand and said, "The point is no matter how full ur schedule is, if u try really hard, you can always fit some more things into it."

"NO" the speaker replied, "thats not the point at all.

The lesson is this:
If u dont put the big rocks in first, u ll never get them in at all !"

few people establish ever in thr minds, what the big rocks are in their lives.

Even when we have our priorities straight in our minds not all of us are adept at keeping them in orderin our hearts-that is in actual practice.
